PRIMEON
Your complete solution for cable fault location
The PRIMEON test van system redefines the state-of-the-art: It is a complete solution for cable fault location and can also be configured with VLF testing and diagnostics options.
PRIMEON comes with an in-built radar of the Teleflex® RDR type for time domain reflectometry, furthermore with an insulation testing unit, a very powerful high voltage DC source, a multi-stage surge wave generator (thumper) for pinpointing with the digiPHONE +2, a high frequency burner for fault conversion, and a set of industry- standard radar-based and transient prelocation methods.
Choose a setup to meet your needs
The PRIMEON system offers a variety of customizable tools and packages, allowing you to prioritize the features that matter most to you. Whether you need a focus on fault location, testing, diagnostics, or simply a reliable all-purpose solution, there are options tailored to fit your requirements. View the brochure below to explore all available configurations.
Centrally controlled and automated system
The PRIMEON system consolidates all functions into a single, central control unit, featuring an intuitive graphical user interface. Hardwired functions - such as mains on/off, HV on, HV off, and emergency stop - are seamlessly integrated, eliminating the need for additional hardware. The system enables fully automated fault location and diagnostics through motorized HV switches, including HV mode selection and execution, all managed by software-controlled motor switches.
Additional features include secure remote access and control via an internet connection, TeamViewer support, and a smartphone app. The system also includes fully integrated MeggerBook V2 database software.
Compatible with a range of vehicles
The system can be installed in a variety of vehicles to suit any operational need. Whether it's compact city vans, rugged 4x4 Rangers, or even EVs, you’ll have the flexibility to transport your test equipment wherever it’s needed. For those who prefer to use their own vehicle, we offer a palletized solution that can be easily integrated. Additionally, the system is compatible with skid and trailer installations.
About the product
The PRIMEON test van system sets a new benchmark in advanced technology. It offers a comprehensive solution for locating cable faults and can be configured with VLF testing and diagnostic capabilities.
PRIMEON integrates a built-in Teleflex® RDR radar for time domain reflectometry, an insulation testing module, a powerful high-voltage DC source, a multi-stage surge wave generator (thumper) compatible with the digiPHONE +2 for pinpoint accuracy, a high-frequency burner for fault conversion, and a range of industry-standard radar and transient prelocation methods. All functions are controlled from a single, centralized unit featuring a user-friendly graphical interface.
7 individual technologies in one system
PRIMEON is a fault locating powerhouse and offers 7 individual technologies for successfully finding faults:
- Insulation resistance testing
- Time domain reflectometry (cable radar / TDR)
- HV DC testing (DC hipot)
- Fault conversion (burning)
- Integrated HV prelocation methods
- Magnetic-acoustic pinpointing via surging/ thumping in multiple voltage ranges
- Sheath testing and sheath fault pinpointing
A benchmark for safety
Occupational safety and secure working environments are top priorities for us and our customers. That’s why Megger designs its products to lead the market in safety, and PRIMEON is no exception. PRIMEON meets rigorous standards, including EN 50191:2010 and VDE 0104:2011, and is equipped with both a ground connection monitoring circuit (F-Ohm) and a touch potential monitoring circuit (F-U or F-Voltage). This makes PRIMEON a groundbreaking, compact fault location system with unmatched safety standards in the industry.

The setup file below is suitable for the installation of both MeggerBook (full version) and MeggerBook Lite (free limited version).
When started with after adding the electronic license key into the installed software, the software starts as MeggerBook full version which allows for easy and comprehensive data evaluation, data archiving, cable management and report creation. A personal quotation for a certain number of licenses can be requested here . The new electronic license key allows for 3 devices to have MeggerBook full version installed on them.
The dongle key licenses from older versions of MeggerBook are not supported with this newer version. Updated electronic license keys can be requested here for previous customers.
Without the required software license key the software starts as MeggerBook Lite which allows for seamless report creation and offers some of the features as the full version while limiting the data storage options as follows:
• Measurements, analyses and reports are not permanently stored in the database
• While cable import and storage are not limited, a maximum of 5 cables can be created using the cable editor of the Lite Edition
At this time, the software can handle the measurement and test data of the following Megger devices:
Test vans: Centrix, Centrix City, Compact City, R30, Variant
Test systems: VLF Sine Wave 45 / 62, VLF CR 40/60, TDS 40/60
TDRs: Teleflex VX(-P), Teleflex SX
Note for test systems VLF Sine Wave 45 and VLF Sine Wave 62:
Data of these test systems can only be imported into the software, if the test systems is equipped with firmware version 3.14 or higher. The latest firmware can be found here (VLF Sine Wave 45) and here (VLF Sine Wave 62).
