Shahryar Farhang
Sha Farhang, P.Eng., is an experienced electrical field engineer with an M.Sc. in Information Systems. He currently works as an Applications Engineer at Megger in Dallas, specializing in online monitoring. Sha provides technical and engineering support for online monitoring solutions, including Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) for oil-filled transformers, grid monitoring of distribution networks, and partial discharge (PD) insulation diagnostics. He has previously worked on a variety of commissioning and maintenance projects involving medium- and high-voltage systems across the USA, Canada, and Chile.
Randy Cox
Randy Cox is the Business Development Manager for Megger’s DGA product line. Prior to Megger, he was with General Electric’s “Monitoring & Diagnostics” business unit for 11 years, where he taught the advantages of understanding Dissolved Gas Analysis and transformer online monitoring for GE’s customers. Randy began his career with Oncor Electric Delivery in Texas, where he supervised operations in the Dallas district. Randy also Chaired Oncor’s Diagnostic Training Committee and Oil & SF6 Diagnostics Committee. These committees served to bring Condition-Based Maintenance to Oncor in an effort to reduce downtime, planned and unplanned, with significant O&M savings and improved substation equipment performance.
Brian Sparling
Brian Sparling, a Life Senior Member of IEEE, and the Technical Advisor for the Substation Equipment Group of CEATI. Brian has over twenty years of experience in the field of power and distribution transformers. For the last 30 years, he has been involved in all aspects of on-line monitoring and diagnostics, condition assessment and root cause of failure investigations of power transformers.
He has authored and co-authored more than 34 technical papers on several topics dealing with the monitoring and diagnostics of transformers.
He has contributed to numerous guides and standards with the Canadian Electricity Association, IEEE Transformers Committee and, the CIGRÉ A2 Transformer committee.
Luca Briano
Luca holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and began his career at Schneider Electric while pursuing his Ph.D.
He later joined Power Diagnostix, a Megger company, as a Project Manager and Technical Sales and Application Engineer. Currently, he serves as the Product Manager for GIS PD Monitoring Solutions, leveraging his expertise to drive innovation and technical excellence in the field.
Tremain Jackson
Tremain V. Jackson is the Supervisor of Substation Technical Operations – Asset Monitoring at Dominion Energy, where he leads the Substation Monitoring Group responsible for the installation, maintenance, and analysis of condition monitoring systems across the company's substation fleet. With 20 years at Dominion Energy, Tremain has built extensive expertise in electrical equipment testing, asset monitoring, and reliability. His career includes five years as a nuclear plant electrician, ten years as an Electrical Equipment Technician specializing in testing and monitoring, and the past five years leading Dominion's monitoring team. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Energy Technology and is dedicated to helping utilities leverage monitoring data to improve asset performance and reliability.
