BITE5 battery tester

Impedance, or ohmic, tester for lead-acid, NiCD, and lithium-ion batteries

Impedance testing: measure cell impedance, voltage, and temperature

Discharge testing: measure cell impedance, voltage, and temperature

  • Test multiple battery types

The BITE5 will test lead-acid (VLA and VRLA) batteries, NiCD batteries, and lithium-ion batteries.

  • Touch screen setup and data trending

Get your answers on the spot, make any required repairs, and retest to verify the repair.

  • Measure AC and DC voltage

Measure DC voltages up to 1000 V and AC voltages up to 600 V, enabling testing of solar combiner boxes and inverters.

  • Measures impedance on cells up to 200 V

The BITE5 will measure and record cell voltages up to 200 Vdc along with battery impedance and battery temperature.

The BITE5 battery tester enables you to perform a simple, quick test, for evaluating the state of health (SOH) of lead-acid (VLA and VRLA), NiCD, and lithium-ion batteries. Featuring an easy-to-use touch screen interface, the BITE5 supports both impedance testing and, when used in conjunction with a load bank, discharge testing. Tests can be performed on individual cells or on strings, up to a maximum cell voltage of 200 V.

Measurement options provided by the BITE5 battery tester include cell impedance, cell voltage, ripple voltage, AC ripple current and DC float current. For impedance tests, users can set pass, warning, and fail limits for impedance and voltage. For discharge tests, measurements are recorded throughout the full discharge period. Trends can be displayed on the instrument’s integrated touch screen and the stored results can be downloaded via a USB cable or via an SD card for detailed analysis and archiving. Wireless transfer of data to Megger’s PowerDB measurement software suite is also supported.
