The KMK8 AC and DC fault location bridge is a small, handheld instrument for the qualitative evaluation, fault location, and qualification of existing telecommunication cables. This easy-to-use instrument performs measurements according to either pre-programmed or user-specified cable parameters as well as the entered or measured cable temperature, cable lengths, and the distance to the fault.
The KMK8 is essentially four instruments in one:
- Active bridge for accurate location of faults on cables with low interference voltages level
- Passive wheatstone bridge for location of faults on cables with high interference voltages level
- Graaf fault locator for accurate fault location on totally watersoaked cables with high and intermittent interference voltages
- Time domain reflectometer (TDR) for the location of low impedance faults and cross talk between pairs
Due to the graphical display, the easily operated menu and extensive help functions make the handling and operation of the KMK8 incredibly easy. Not only that, but the displayed test results can be stored in the internal memory as a PDF or Excel file to be transferred to a PC via a USB drive.
