PD APPLICATIONS - SWITCHGEAR SYSTEMS (AIS/GIS/GIL)

Factory PD testing

Partial discharge (PD) testing of switchgear components is an important task within the quality assurance test procedures of manufacturers and sub-suppliers.

Shop Floor Testing

All tests are described with the following international standards:

-> IEC 62271-1, High-voltage switchgear and control gear

-> IEC 60270, High-voltage test techniques – Partial discharge measurements

ICMcompact, HVcontrol, and HVpilot

The ICMcompact combines perfectly with small, tank-type variable frequency test sets for the acceptance testing of gas-insulated substation equipment. Besides the flexible analogue gating function, the ICMcompact comes with a TTL gating input to effectively suppress the switching impulses of the resonant test set.

In combination with Megger’s control and voltage regulating system, HVcontrol, such tests can be standardised and test reports generated automatically. The HVpilot software supports a pre-configuration of multiple setups, automatic voltage controls, and parallel recordings of all relevant data, such as PD quantities, PD levels, PD pattern, and voltage levels.

Typical Packages:

  • 1 x Coupling capacitor like CC50B/V, CC100B/V for AIS
  • 1 x Impulse calibrator CAL1A
  • 1 x Set of cables
  • 1 x Software for remote control, recording, and reporting
